Intaglio Drypoint Workshop with Lacia Vogel

Lacia Vogel (MFA University of Regina, BFA UBC Okanagan) is a printmaker who works primarily in screen printing and intaglio. Having been to residencies all over the world, she brings a diverse and particular eye to her practice. In this workshop, Lacia will teach intaglio, focused on the drypoint technique. This type of etching creates softer, more drawerly line work, and is several hundred years old. Using copper plates, ink, and our gorgeous press, you'll turn ordinary paper into a fantastic edition. Just bring your self, a sketchbook, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

If you want to know more about the drypoint technique, this website has a fantastic little essay with imagery.

We look forward to getting inky with you! Register here!

Announcing our new programming coordinator...

Hello everyone!

Articulate Ink would like to take a moment to introduce you to Edie Skeard, the new Programming Coordinator at Articulate Ink! We are sending out this email to introduce our subscribers to her, but also to get your feedback on what kind of programming you'd like to see this coming year.

Edie is a visual artist working primarily in print media and a member of Articulate Ink. She likes to focus on hand drawn techniques within print media, utilizing screen printing and intaglio most often. Lately she has been playing with installations, light, and sculptural print. Her favourite past time is napping and reading books with her cat Dorothy Parker.

This is a link to a survey about upcoming workshops and classes at Articulate Ink that we hope you'll complete, and even pass on to anyone else who might be interested! It's very quick and painless, we promise. Edie to excited to work with you in the coming months to develop printmaking programming at Articulate Ink! If you have any questions, please feel free to email her at programming@articulateink.ca

Thank you so much for your continued interest in workshops at Articulate Ink! We look forward to seeing you at future classes.
